| The Goodhue County Red Cross Youth Community Action Team "YCAT"
is an organization run by youth, giving them an opportunity to learn
and enjoy real experiences in Community Service programs, as well as
learning practical skills in emergency response and government
interaction. Every member has an opportunity to understand the risks and rewards of being at the forefront of community service and disaster response. Every member has an opportunity to learn basic knowledge to become a competent First Responder, with CPR/AED and Basic First Aid Training. Every member has an opportunity to participate in and learn more about disaster services. Every member has an opportunity to understand volunteerism and community spirit. "YCAT" meetings are held the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month at 3 PM at the Goodhue County Red Cross office, 460 Guernsey Lane in Red Wing, MN. The meetings are approximately one hour long. All youth, anywhere in Goodhue County, are welcome to join. Help us brainstorm ideas for service projects, train in First Aid, disaster relief, fundraising and more. Come to meet other teens with the same interests, who also like to have fun while helping others! |
